Stephanie L. Kwan

Stephanie L. Kwan's practice focuses on intellectual property issues, with a primary focus on patent procurement and patent portfolio development.  Prior to practicing at Kwan & Olynick LLP, Ms. Kwan worked at a large international law firm and a mid-sized patent boutique.  She has focused her practice on patent application drafting, patent procurement, analysis, due diligence, and opinions.  She has also worked on drafting agreements, litigation support, and negotiating intellectual property transactions.

Her technical background includes structure and properties of engineering materials, geotechnical engineering, fluid mechanics, structural analysis, structural design, and software.  She has represented clients in technology areas including actuators, materials testing, semiconductor processing, wireless networking, software, medical devices, and precision machining.

She enjoys working with inventors to protect their unique contributions to technology.  She also enjoys providing a bridge between technology and law, and giving a voice to engineers and scientists by combining her unique ability to understand inventors and to write clearly and precisely.

She co-authored an article on construction and project management entitled, "Fast-tracking's impact on project change," Project management journal, v. 29, no. 4 (Dec. 1998), p. 35-41.
